3. What item could you not live without?
I could not live without my vintage tweed midi coat with a huge faux fur collar & cuffs……doesn’t matter what I wear underneath, I always feel super glam when i’m wearing it!
4. What’s the background of Silver Birch?
My first shop was in Leeds when I left uni in 2006. It was in the back of a big vintage warehouse. I used to alter 60’s & 70’s dresses that no one would buy, and make them look cool. You can still see a lot of influence in my designs from those 70’s dresses. I started making my own creations and moved the shop to Liverpool. After 6 years, I closed my Liverpool boutique last year and decided to go online. I needed more time for travel to find inspiration and collect interesting fabrics, aswel as time to do photoshoots as a way of connecting with customers outside Liverpool. I have a love affair with India and a lot of my summer fabrics come from there. I like to go once a year to see what I can bring home in my suitcase. I am now based in Liverpool’s Georgian Quarter where I design and make all of my garments and also have a photo studio so I can shoot a new mini collection in house every week.
