You have the 17 wedding guest outfits sorted for summer (not to mention 17 backups on standby) but the day-to-day outfits? A bit trickier. “Do I need a light jacket?” “Is it hot enough for shorts?” “Why is my whole wardrobe black?” We’re in the same rut, but that’s what our meticulous researchers (read: scrolling addicts) are for. After due consideration, these are the 7 outfits we’ll likely be wearing on rotation all summer.
1. The weekend top
No trend has taken off more in 2019 than the puff sleeve. We’re loving this white linen-like crop top for summer. Pair with cream jeans and white trainers for an all-beige but anything but boring ensemble. It works equally well with high-rise Levi’s or wide-leg trousers for a slightly fancier vibe.
2. The holiday dress you still wear afterwards
Kaftans and short-shorts are great for jaunts to Ibiza but let’s face it, they’re rarely worn again ’til the next beach holiday. This summer, we’re opting only for outfits we’re not gonna leave in a suitcase until July 2020. First in line, this striped midi from Glamorous. Pair with natural accessories and go a little extra highlighter for that ‘just back from holidays’ look (even if you were just in Brighton for the weekend).
3. The little white dress
Puff sleeve, lace, button-through – this white dress is ticking all the trend boxes. We’re pairing ours with some comfy sandals and gold hoop earrings for chilled weekends in the park/pub (weather-dependent)
4. The heatwave top
One for when you’ve reached peak-glow, this adorable puff-sleeve crop top is our answer to day-drinking plans that will likely lead to dinner and cocktails after. We’ve styled with a wide-leg trouser and heels here, but you can easily dress it down with some trusty high-waisters and a block heel or woven mule.
5. The ‘I’ve got a family thing’ dress
In between the boozier dates on your social calendar, there’s likely a few family gatherings, Christenings or baby showers in the mix too. And for those, we’re turning to this blue dress from Another Look. Styled below with a white heel, it looks equally adorable with a white trainer or flat sandal.
6. The wear-on-repeat
As far as crop tops go, this is a relatively easy one to wear. It looks great with high-waisted jeans (or trousers for a dressed up look) and more importantly, you can wear your everyday bra with it. Meaning you’re going to be choosing over other options again and again.
7. The easy jumpsuit
We’re finishing off our week of casj outfits with everyone’s favourite summer throw-on: a day jumpsuit. This one from Pretty Lavish stands out because of its subtle ruffle trims and cute polka-dot print, a nice twist on the beige trend. We’re wearing ours with gold jewellery and tan sliders for maximum comfort.
