For us, hosting events and sample sales are some of the swiftest and most effective ways of raising funds for a valuable cause – and give us the chance to build meaningful connections with our community in the process.

Over the years, we’ve hosted a series of sales at our London HQ in support of some fantastic organisations, and as a female-founded company we’re especially passionate about charities that create positive change for women.

Waving the flag for female-focused charities

One of those charities is Choices, an initiative that supports women and children who have survived situations of domestic violence and abuse. Through a mix of support programmes, educational tools and prevention work, Choices aims to eradicate domestic abuse in whatever form it takes, and help survivors build safe and healthy lives that are free from violence.

In a colourful, crowd-pulling sale co-hosted by the SilkFred team and one of our brand partners, Dancing Leopard, we raised a total of £9K for our chosen charities.

Workwear for survivors seeking employment

Of the total, £4K was donated to Choices. Alongside the funds raised, our team hand-picked samples that were suitable for interviews and workwear, which were donated to abuse survivors aged between 18-25 seeking full-time employment through Choices’ support programme.

Elsewhere, SilkFred brand partner Dancing Leopard raised £5k for Think Like a Pony, a charity that empowers vulnerable children through horsemanship.
