With Valentines approaching this weekend and award season well under way, we thought it a nifty to combine both topics and make a list of the most-loved celebrity couples for you SF lovers. Their relationships have attracted much media attention over the years, but many keep to themselves and promote good will, be it via their careers, charity work or family orientated lifestyle. Here are some power-house celebrity couples who continue to make us say ‘aww’ years laters.
- Will Smith & Jada Pinkett Smith
The couple met on a film set in 1995 and were married in two years later. Two of their children have followed in their footsteps, pursuing careers in the performing arts industry and becoming successful as individuals. The Smiths pride themselves on being very private and family orientated people, after over 22 years together, they are as solid as ever. Will declared “Marriage is the hardest thing you will ever do. The secret is removing divorce as an option. Anybody who gives themselves that option will get a divorce.”
Their advice: set out a plan, after a certain amount of time together, it’s important to have mutual goals that you can help the other achieve, set yourself goals as a couple.
- Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie
The pair met on the set of “Mr and Mrs Smith” in 2005. At the time Brad was married, but that was all over after this movie. The couple who have six children, through adoption and natural birth, tied the not finally in 2014. Angelina became a public figure for women suffering from breast cancer, having undergone two serious surgeries in the last few years. After being together for over 10 years, they continue to display their love publicly, with Brad writing many beautiful pieces about his wife during some of her tougher times.
Their advice: to support one another through thick and thin, it’s those moments that determine a relationship, to maintain the spark, respect and admire one another. If you have kids, to let them be who they want to be, show them love and simply teach them to be kind human beings.

It was no surprise how delighted fans were all over the world when they heard about Beyonce and Jay-Zs relationship back in 2002. The couple have been together for nearly two decades now and continue to maintain a very private relationship. Continuing to make music together, they are considered one of the most influential couples in the business, worth over $1 billion together. In regards to her relationship. They have become involved in various charitable organisations, work within the black community and were a common face during President Obamas run for presidency. Overcoming many rumours, they continue to show their adoration for one another and spread happiness.
Their advice: Keep personal information about being a couple between the two of you, it should be a mystery to everyone what goes on behind closed doors.

The adored TV host, Ellen DeGeneres, came out as lesbian in 1997. She has stated that it was a very sad time for her, ‘mired in depression’. It received a lot of media attention and stunted her career at the time. Since 2004, Ellen has been in a relationship with actress and activist, Portia de Rossi. After the turnover of same-sex marriage, they tied the knot in 2008. Now having been together for over a decade, they continue to show the love they share for one another and encourage LGBT individuals to confront their fears and not be afraid to be who they really are. Since 2001, Ellen has graced our TV screens with ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ and continues to delight the public with her kind manner and humble humanitarian acts.
Their advice: (as Brangelina has said too) to be yourself, love and support one another, it’s how you approach the difficult times that matter.

How could we not mention one of the UK’s most-loved sweetheart couples? It was back in 1997 when ‘Posh and Becks’ began dating. The former Spice Girl turned fashion mogul tied the knot with the world renowned football player in 1999. They have since gone on to establish themselves as one of the most important and powerful couples in the spotlight. They have four children together, two of which are beginning to leave their mark on the fashion industry in their own way. They are both now heavily involved in the fashion industry, as well as participating in various charitable events and raising money for different organisations. They keep their family life private and are all very close.
Their advice: it’s important to have shared passions and an interest in one another’s work lives, to maintain the romance and preserve nice memories made together, and when it comes to parenting, you’re a team and in it for the long run as a couple.
