Our Favourite Frocks From The Met Gala 2016

So the Met Gala happened this Monday and as per usual, the rich and famous didn’t disappoint. This years theme was “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology” and the belles didn’t fail to embody it (the men didn’t do too bad either), take a look at some of our favourite outfits of the event…

Gigi Hadid wore Tommy Hilfiger while she cosied up to boyfriend Zayn Malik. Zayn sported two machine-like metal arms, but later went with just the one; whilst Gigi had real chrome nails glued to her fingers and showcased silver finger-length rings to match. What a good looking pair!

Zoe Saldana went all out in a dramatic gown, with a large trail made from multi-coloured feathers, it was designed by Dolce & Gabbana. She attended the event with husband Marco, the pair couldn’t seem more in love.

Lovely ladies! The beautiful Emily Blunt and Olivia Wilde flaunted their baby bumps, both in Michael Kors Collection designs. Flawless soon to be mummies they are indeed!

Beyonce flew solo for this years gala, in a pinky-beige latex gown. She does love herself a Givenchy dress, which is completely understandable when you look like Queen B. The rumours about ‘Becky with the good hair’ being Rita Ora were also put to sleep as the two appeared in a late night selfie which was titled ‘Family<3‘.

Ever her elegant self, Emma Watson looked radiant in a Calvin Klein Collection dress designed as part of the The Green Carpet Challenge.

Zendaya rocked a vintage style wig (which apparently took forever to style perfectly) in a Michael Kors gown. The frock was made from sequins to embody ‘robot realness‘ according to the designer himself. We are loving this look, the make-up is on point.

Another star who looked beautiful in a Calvin Klein Collection – The Green Carpet Challenge gown was Lupita Nyong’o. Sporting a funky hairstyle, she definitely won the award for tallest hair of the night, and the green dress spoke for itself.

Alicia Vikander went short this time, with a retro Louis Vuitton dress and chunky boots (which we’re all lusting over). The Ex-Machina star looked super cute in her alternative attire for the event.

The beautiful Zoe Kravitz also went for a mini dress ‘with wings’. The Valentino outfit shared some resemblance to that of her mutant character in X-Men:First Class; she paired her dress with an elegant headpiece/mask and extravagantly embellished stiletto shoes. Wow sums it up!

Anna Wintour continues to chair the event, and this years special honorary day chairs were given to three outstanding designers; Nicolas Ghesquière, Karl Lagerfeld and Miuccia Prada. Aren’t these event just filled with beautifully talented people?! (We decided to avoid the whole Kardashian topic for this post, yawn).

Now lets continue to gush over the gowns ladies… x
