Here at SilkFred we love clothes, but we love good stories even more. To start off our Spotted in SilkFred customer series, we’ve picked a few of our favourite pics and stories from our fabulous customers – you guys.
Justin, Leah & Gray
When it comes to cutest family portrait Justin, Leah & Gray absolutely steal the show. SilkFred mama, Leah (and her bump), rocked this Genie Jumpsuit from Dancing Leopard at her baby shower back in May.
We asked them what the best thing about the day was.
“My friend Buzz had organised the whole day, so the only thing I actually got to decide was my outfit! Baby shower games can be naff but she nailed it. We played baby musical bingo and for the other game she had secretly filmed Justin answering questions about me being pregnant and about Gray. I had to guess his answers. I cried! I put it down to the hormones.”
Second of all, we asked how she felt rocking the Genie Jumpsuit.
“Being pregnant, there’s an expectation to dress like a pregnant person should. But I didn’t buy any maternity clothes (most are frumpy) as actually you just have to be clever about what you buy. The Genie is perfect as it fits any size, including my bump. Also being preggers meant my already big babylons got even bigger.. so the Genie gave me the perfect opportunity to show them off! #inapropspreggers”
Expecting? We’ve gathered a bunch of our favourite breastfeeding and pregnancy friendly dresses together to help you out.
Graduating in Style
SilkFred girls don’t just look good, we’ve got the brains to match – here’s Katrina Hopley wearing the super sophisticated Red Frill Top Maxi Dress to her Kingston Uni graduation:
“The best thing about the day was being the first in my family to ever go to university and graduate with a 2.1 in Dance. Graduating amongst my friends from the dance course was an amazing experience because we filled the theatre with excitement and encouragement for one another!”
Trending in the Big Smoke
We love this pic from Lucy and her son, Lennny, out and about in the streets of London wearing the bright and bold Zeina Wrap Dress.
“The best thing about the day was having one on one time with Lenny. The trip was a treat for him doing so well in his first year at school. I’ve missed not having him around so much and this summer holiday he has often been over shadowed by his louder younger sister so we left her with the grandparents to enjoy quality time with Lenny and spoil him.”
We asked Lucy what she’ll remember most about her day out:
“Seeing London through Lenny’s eyes. He was excited just being on the tube! I’m so used to seeing the famous landmarks when I visit London for work that I don’t appreciate them as much. Lenny was amazed by Big Ben as it struck when we went past on the open top bus. I will remember to look up and appreciate my surroundings more!”
Saying Yes to the Dress
If you’ve still got a few weddings left to tackle this year, take some inspiration from Chloe Carswell’s gorgeous Instagram post. She rocked the Ava Off The Shoulder Dress in a bright cobalt colour at her friend’s wedding.
We asked Chloe what the best part about her day was
“The day was amazing from start to finish, it was set in a gorgeous church which was a huge highlight of the day, but for me it was the cocktails they’d chosen upon arrival. Most weddings who have a glass of fizz, but their choices were ‘Drumstick Lolly’ or ‘Strawberry Daiquiri’ – yum!”
“The Ava Dress was amazing, I loved every second of wearing it. From the moment I tried it on, I felt SO comfortable! The material and how it felt on was perfect for an all-day wedding.”
We totally agree with Chloe, there’s no point wearing a dress without room for all the free food and cocktails on offer at a wedding! Our wedding guest dress collection should help you make the most of the buffet AND enjoy your next wedding in equal amounts.
